Cologne Graduate School of Economics (CGS-E)

The Cologne Graduate School of Economics (CGS-E) is part of the Cologne Graduate School (CGS) in Management, Economics, and Social Sciences. The CGS-E offers an integrated graduate program in Economics: a doctoral (PhD) program with an integrated M.Sc. Economic Research. The two-years M.Sc. Economic Research in the first stage of the program is fully taught in English and is dedicated to prepare students for high-level research in Economics. After completion of the M.Sc. Economic Research we offer funding to successful students for the dissertation phase. In this second stage, PhD students work on research projects for their dissertation and interact with other PhD students and faculty members in workshops, seminars, and summer schools.

The Cologne Graduate School of Economics offers education, funding and supervision for research in all major fields of Economics, preferably related to the research areas of the Cluster of Excellence “ECONtribute: Markets and Public Policy”, e.g. Behavioral Economics,  Market Design, Organizational Design, Consumer Protection, Political Economy, Distribution and Financial Stability. The integrated graduate program is a challenging and rigorous full-time program in a friendly, supportive environment and is dedicated to excellence in teaching and research.
